Candidates must be proposed by a duly accredited body, university, scientific society, association, educational research network or group. The candidates must demonstrate an established track record and clear commitment to educational innovation. Consideration is given both to candidates with extensive experience, and those with less of a track record, but highly significant contributions.
Candidate proposals must be made by an official representative of any of the entities listed in the above paragraph, using the official form available on the Afundación website. The proposal should enclose the required documentation in accreditation of the candidate’s merits.
The documentation must include at least:
- Candidate details: Name, email address, postal address and contact telephone number.
- Summary of merits: List of key achievements and milestones.
- Reference letters: At least 3 letters from people familiar with the merits of the candidate (with no conflicts of interest).
- Explanatory report: Detailed description of their biography, and accreditation of their merits.
- Summarized resume: Maximum 10 pages (a complete resume may also be enclosed).
- Artifacts or evidence: Documents, papers or samples of projects supporting the proposal.
Languages: The documentation may be presented in Spanish, English or Galician.
Submissions must be made by February 28, 2026. No additional documentation will be accepted beyond this deadline, unless specifically requested by Afundación.
All candidate proposals that fulfill the requirements will be accepted and reviewed by a jury made up of five distinguished figures from the field of education. The jury will act autonomously and independently, and there will be no prior elimination process.
The winner will receive an allowance of 12,000 euros and an accreditation diploma. They must also undertake to produce a paper in their specialist field (between 20 and 25 pages, in accordance with the APA manual), and Afundación reserves the right to publish the paper. Public disclosure of the award is also allowed, and the winner may make mention of the accolade in their letterhead or announcements, indicating the year in question.
None of the documentation sent in during the process will be returned, and will be kept purely for the evaluation and development of the award, as established in the terms and conditions.
